This is part 3 of the infographic series: 3 Digital Trends for Publishers in 2014.

In 2014, publishers will experience these 3 digital trends:

  1. Mobile moves to the center of the multiplatform landscape
  2. Native Advertising is here to stay
  3. Always on means always social

Part 3 is all about social media. Social Media has become an integrated part of people’s daily life. Recent studies show that social media is driving as much as half of the traffic to some publisher sites. News publishers have enjoyed many benefits from the use of social media by their journalists, including wider exposure, an increase in valuable contacts, and some “crowd sourcing” benefits when major newsworthy events occur. 2014 is the year publishers master the art of engaging digital consumers via social and really capitalize it with targeted, intelligent advertising.

In today’s media landscape, news publishers continue to innovate and transform, reaching new audiences and discovering new revenue streams.
